Back to NaPoWriMo 2020: The Fast and Furious Franchise
Assumptions About the Fast & Furious Universal Theme Park Ride
First of all, it must be
loud, overwhelming,
a kind of impossibly
coordinated chaos
welling up all around.
There is punching,
a storm of violence
encircling everything,
and cars gliding by,
sometimes slowing
so their drivers can
nod, oddly profoundly,
at ride participants.
This nodding is key,
because most of all,
the Fast & Furious ride
must be surprisingly
heartfelt: you emerge
somehow in a swell
of deep feeling, drawn
into a dream of gasoline,
and saying farewell
to a world in which
you have found, truly,
a family.
