Astronomer’s calculation

Given that
one can only see
what’s past, how
on earth can we
become unstuck,
freed from history,
the cosmic clusters
of our decisions,
icy constellations
& pinpricked mass
of a million years
slung around us,
the stellar millstone
of all that’s come
before?
