Sauce

Stir the tomato,
watch it roil, & bless
the senses with a few
brief flecks of garlic,
thin and warm stained
glass. A little salt
for love and it’s done,
or just beginning
as you serve the wine,
equal pours for the pot
and your yearning
lips.
