Back to NaPoWriMo 2019: Car Insurance

Night Drive

If I told you
that I missed you,
would you meet me
under the Midwest
starfields?

Would you drive
across the length
of this American
flatland, state

lines broken
in your wake,
your ambient
streetlight eyes

flashing halogen
at every twist
of road, of forking
memory?

The miles empty
us. Would you risk
them again tonight
for me?
